    Head Tennis Coach

    Teo embarked on his sports journey at the age of 4 in Aylmer, Quebec, where he dabbled in tennis and football. Instilled with a competitive spirit from his Bosnian heritage, he swiftly developed a passion for sports.

    Throughout his junior tennis career, Teo achieved notable milestones, including securing a spot in the top 10 of the National Canadian Rankings for Under 12's. He also participated in the Under 12 Fischer Outdoor Junior Nationals in Mont-Tremblant and clinched victory in the Under 14 NCTA Junior City Championship in Ottawa in 2015.

    Following a three-year battle with injuries and health issues, Teo transitioned to coaching in 2019 after obtaining his TPA Instructor Certification. In 2021, he reignited his playing career, journeying to Europe to train and compete. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, he joined Ivan Dodig's team, a former world number 2 in doubles, training alongside them for 18 months.

    Returning to Canada in 2023, Teo furthered his professional development by completing his Club Professional 1 Certification with the TPA. Presently, he serves as the assistant head coach for the University of Ottawa Division 1 tennis team while pursuing his fourth year in Accounting.

  • Omar Ali

    Fitness Coach

    At the age of 5, Omar was introduced to tennis in Egypt, sparking a lifelong passion for sports. Competing in tennis until the age of 12, he then transitioned to soccer, embarking on a new athletic journey. Currently in his 4th year at the University of Ottawa, Omar is majoring in Human Kinetics, deepening his understanding of human movement and performance.

    After a break from tennis, Omar's interest in the sport was reignited, leading him to compete with uOttawa's D1 tennis team. While he did not pursue a professional sports career, Omar has maintained an active lifestyle and discovered a new passion for strength and conditioning coaching.

    Omar spent over a year with the University of Ottawa's strength and conditioning team, participating in weekly workshops and serving as the assistant strength and conditioning coach for the uOttawa women's soccer team & Ottawa South United, coaching children aged 7-14. Concurrently, Omar has been gaining valuable experience at a physiotherapy clinic for around a year as a physiotherapist assistant and exercise specialist.

  • Barry Nimubona

    Tennis Coach

    Barry's introduction to tennis occurred at the age of 4, under the guidance of his father in the East African nation of Burundi. Despite football's widespread popularity, it was tennis that eventually captured Barry's heart, particularly after his family relocated to Ottawa when he was 14.

    This newfound passion for tennis spurred Barry on a journey to hone his skills and pursue a professional career in the sport. Concurrently, he developed a keen interest in teaching, driven by a desire to share his knowledge and inspire others. Barry views coaching as a fulfilling endeavor, allowing him to impart valuable lessons to aspiring athletes, much like his own coaches did for him.

    While continuing to chase his dream of professional tennis, Barry has embraced coaching as a secondary goal, aiming to contribute positively to the next generation of players.
